Bio of Carla Yarbrough

Carla Yarbrough started her production company after years of working in the broadcast industry. Her most recent work includes co-producing the Emmy Award winning documentary, "I Am A Man: From Memphis, A Lesson in Life" http://www.iamamanthemovie.com and assisting in the production of the "Respect Yourself: The Story of Stax Records" documentary.

She is a producer, writer, interviewer and director who can bring a story to life. Her most valuable gift is interviewing. When you sit down with her get ready to tell your story. She also has an eye for photography and can see the most intriguing and beautiful images in what some might call the mundane settings of life.

During her television career, she worked for WTNH-TV8 (ABC) in New Haven, CT as the Director of Special Programs where she produced Emmy nominated programming and hosted the only community program for four years, "What's Goin' On."
 

As a professor of broadcast and multimedia journalism, she has taught at Cal State Long Beach, Quinnipiac University in Connecticut and is currently teaching at Cal State Fullerton. She has developed curriculums that focus on story telling for print, broadcast and the web. She has also worked with the University of California, Riverside in the Strategic Communications Unit managing the video production team and producing online content and television programmig. 

She is a native of Memphis, Tennessee and earned her masters degree in journalism from Quinnipiac University in Connecticut and a bachelors degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Memphis. And has studied at Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, CA in the area of Media Psychology (Ph.D.).
